An unmissable event, the Festival des Forêts will propose between the 21st of June to the 15th of July 2023 its 31st edition under the sign of eco-responsibility and soft means of transport.

Out of the beaten tracks !

For 31 years the Festival has been offering original musical events in the heart of the Laigue and Compiègne forests, thus weaving tight links between nature, music and heritage.
Particularly aware of the environmental issues, it continues its commitment in ecological transition, with a rich, original, demanding programme to offer unusual sensory experiences.

Environment as conducting wire of the programme !

• In the branches concert with Gilles Apap and Myriam Lafargue (2nd of July –Saint Pierre en Chastres, Vieux-Moulin) will take place partly on a tree ! It will be part of the week-end entitled Perched in the trees , a partnership with the festival Branche et Ciné proposed by Office National des Forêts. You will be able to participate in a workshop dedicated to the maintenance and the regeneration of the forest (Saturday 1st of July) ;
• Cyclo-musical ride with François-René Duchâble, as an introduction to his recital (9th of July Saint Pierre en Chastres, Vieux-Moulin) ;
• Thierry Escaich organ recital : he will improvise on the theme of the dangers that threaten the forest, and its capacity of resilience (15th of July, Saint Jean aux Bois) ;
• The Bees Dance, an eco-friendly fable for families plus a meeting with a beekeeper (5th of July, Compiègne) ;

Internationally renowned artists

Loyal to its commitments, the Festival des Forêts will propose a very varied programme, giving a large part to young talented artists who will perform with internationally renowned artists such as Thierry Escaich, composer in residence.

Enjoy a Musical Forest Bath !

A large part will be given to the Musical Forest Baths in parallel with the other events throughout the 31st season of the Festival. They embody the alchemy between music and nature which is the purpose of the Festival, by offering a unique experience for self-resourcing. The Festival des Forêts proposes a real immersion into classical music, thanks to the richness of its programme and the vibrations experimented during the concerts. The Musical Forest Baths link the benefits of the contact with nature and music, with the presence of an artist and the benefits of self-resourcing with exercises inspired by yoga, or Qi-gong. Three hours in the forest, following a precise development of the course, with a maximum of 20 persons, lead by a coach and a musician.

Music for the whole family !

For young music lovers, family concerts are proposed to enable families to gather around music. Specific workshops are offered for the 4 to 10 years old every Wednesday at Compiègne Sainr-Corneille library (Les P’tites zoreilles).
