They are performed by famous musicians like Valery Gergiev, Paavo J\u00e4rvi, Alan Gilbert, Alain Altinoglu, Louis Langr\u00e9e, Lisa Batiashvili and Fran\u00e7ois Leleux, Renaud and Gautier Capu\u00e7on, Emmanuelle Bertrand and Paul Meyer.\nThierry Escaich has received four Victoires de la Musique, in 2003, 2006, 2011 and 2017. He has been teaching improvisation and composition at the Conservatoire National Sup\u00e9rieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP) where he was awarded 8 first prizes. In 2013 he was elected member of the Acad\u00e9mie des Beaux-Arts of Institut de France.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why artists in residence ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To have the composer Thierry Escaich in residence \u00a0for four years is a way for the\u00a0 Festival des For\u00eats to pursue and to widen the creation and the knowledge of today\u2019s music.\u00a0 Thierry Escaich is the successor of Philippe Hersant who himself succeeded to Nicolas Bacri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Three main axes for the residence :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Performing the composer\u2019s works, whether creations or interpretation of existing works,<\/li><li>Animating a composing Academy and a master class,<\/li><li>Organizing  conferences for the audience called \u201cPr\u00e9ludes au Concert\u201d, or just unformal  meetings with the artists.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">L\u00e9o Delibes composing Academy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It was created in 2019 during the residence of Thierry Escaich for a small number of advanced  composition  students or for young composers starting their carreer. Its aim is to enlighten  the work of the students and to allow its transmission by a renowned artist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During 5 days, the participants (3 to 5)  can meet Thierry Escaich and compose a short work (2 to 5\u2019)  under his supervision. This year, Quatuor Ellipsos will participate. .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The works written during this period will be performed by Quatuor Ellipsos within the festival\u2019s programme<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The participation to the Academy is free.  The participants are hosted at Villa du Ch\u00e2telet ( house where L\u00e9o Delibes lived) in  Choisy-au-Bac near Compi\u00e8gne, thanks to the owners Alix and Philippe de Lauzanne.  Housing and meals are paid by the Festival des For\u00eats.
